Gum Grafting to Treat Recession and Decayed Roots
Our patient came in with sensitive, decaying roots of her lower left bicuspid teeth. After removing the decay, we used a microsurgical (tunneling) grafting technique to restore the normal position of the gum tissue, cover the exposed roots, and prevent further recession. This avoided the need for white plastic (composite) fillings that would need periodic replacement and predispose the tissue to further recession. She is thrilled to be as good as new.
