Pre-Op Instructions

Please eat a normal meal before your visit unless you are having IV sedation. You will be able to drive after your visit unless you are having IV sedation or oral sedation, in which case you should arrive with a driver. In many cases you will be able to resume normal activities the same day as your treatment, including returning to work and eating on the side of your mouth that was not worked on. If this is not the case we will have told you at your consultation visit. We strongly recommend use of ibuprofen (Advil) or naproxen (Aleve) to prevent pain. If you cannot take either of these, acetaminophen (Tylenol) is a somewhat less effective substitute. We will give you one of these at the end of your visit, and it would be a good idea to have a supply at work or home for the rest of the day.
