Sedation for Implant or Periodontal Surgery

DF2 Uncategorized

We understand that some people are anxious about implant placement, periodontal surgery, or tooth
extractions. Traditionally, many of these people receive intravenous sedation. IV sedation is effective, and we offer it for our patients. But it is costly, carries risks of side effects and complications, and requires an entire day for recovery. For many years, we have found that a sedative pill called Halcion (triazolam) is an extremely effective, safe, and inexpensive alternative. Halcion is a relative of Valium and Xanax, and dozens of our patients have taken it prior to complex implant and periodontal treatment. They walked out of our office minutes after their procedure was completed, and unanimously approved of Halcion as a simpler, safer, and less expensive alternative to IV sedation. If you have been postponing treatment due to anxiety, please call us for more information about your options for sedation.
